Belgium and the Netherlands
"A New Map of XVII Provinces of Low Germanie"
The cities of Amsterdam, Antwerpen (Antwerp), Ghendt (Ghent), Middelburg,
Groeningen, Zutphen, Utrect and Atrecht (Arras) are illustrated
along the top of the map.
All the major towns of Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg are shown, as the rivers and lakes, islands,
and even sand banks in the sea. As the map is not orientated north-south as most charts are,
a helpful compass is also included.
Adjacent to the map, on its right and left sides, are depictions of the people of the region;
a Gentleman, a Brabander, a Hollander, a Fisherman and a Countryman.
These round off the map and make it a lovely piece of artwork,
ideal for anyone with links to the area.
